Affordable, Student-Led Legal Guidance for Our Community

First Step Legal Services is a student-led initiative dedicated to helping everyday people navigate basic everyday legal processes without having to burn money. Our mission is to make legal information and guidance accessible, affordable, and easy to understand, assisting people in dealing with housing, small business, and other common legal matters. We provide research support, document preparation assistance, educational resources, and step-by-step guidance all carefully designed to inform and guide, not provide direct legal advice. As students passionate about law, government, and civic engagement, we gain hands-on experience, our community understands and exercises its rights.

Luca Danley – Founder

I am an undergraduate student-athlete at Muskingum University, studying both Political Science on the Pre-Law track, as well as Kinisiology and Exercise Science on the Pre-PT track. I started First Step Legal Services after seeing how many people in lower-income communities, as well as small businesses with less funding than a large corporation, struggled with paperwork and legal fees. As an undergrad and future law student, I’ve had hands-on experience with court forms, legal processes, and medical-legal documentation. My goal is to use what I’ve learned to make these processes simple, affordable, and accessible for everyone.
